Project details

What we need
  • Audit of existing Employee Handbook, or internal communications regarding employment policies
  • Edit or creation of a new Employee Handbook, which may include any of the following: Standards of Conduct, Work Schedules, Leave Policies, Termination Policies, Safety and Security, Anti-Discrimination policies, Compensation and Benefits policies, any Non-Disclosure Agreements or Conflict of Interest statements that may apply, and any other pertinent information
What we have in place
  • We currently have an Employee Handbook, which should make it easy for you to get started. We also have policies and procedures, and the ability to provide any other information you need.
How this will help
This project will save us $1,765 , allowing us to provide social and recreational opportunities to people with mental illness, addictions, and disabilities.

We have made several alterations to our handbook over the past three years and it would be helpful to have someone do a review to make sure everything is current.

Our mission

The Momentum Center is a grassroots movement to create a stigma free community.
Vision: Everyone is (and knows they are) a valuable piece of the community puzzle.

What we do

The Momentum Center is a grassroots movement to create a stigma-free community. We do that by:
operating the Momentum Center for Social Engagement, a social and recreational program for people with mental illness, addictions, and disabilities,
directing the Momentum Cafe as a local coffee and pastry shop with the Momentum Center that is open to the public and provides a place for social integration,
facilitating community conversations including
Town Hall Meetings on Mental Illness
Town Hall Meetings on Race/Racism
Inspire! events that focus on the needs of disenfranchised and marginalized populations,
providing Cultural Immersion Experiences both internationally and Across the Bridge as we address the cultural and racial divide between Grand Haven (and surrounds) and Muskegon,
running Just Goods Gift Shop, a social enterprise that sells fair trade and social cause merchandise, and
hosting annual events including Prom with a Purpose and the Salmon Run to eRace Stigma.

The Momentum Center for Social Engagement is a unique complement to clinical and therapeutic services. No clinical diagnosis or referral is required and membership is just $1 per year. It is an empathy first environment. A robust research program provides evidence that the Momentum Center is helping reduce depression, anxiety, and loneliness among members.

Testimonials

I'm so grateful for the knowledge Jennifer brought to this project! I am confident that we have covered all required aspects of an employee manual and grateful for Jennifer's accommodating the "extras" that are unique to our organization. She was thorough and professional throughout.
