Project details

What we need
  • A Membership Strategy document of 2-4 pages, including analysis of the Organization’s current membership program, step-by-step guide to a new or improved program, growth goals and creative outreach strategies
Additional details

The COVID-19 pandemic has brought on many challenges for organizations especially non-profits over the last year. We are looking for assistance in creating a more comprehensive strategy to bring in new members that will improve our current membership program, increase engagement, and support our organization's fundraising and community-building goals. We need to broaden our coalition of service providers to sustain and increase our advocacy efforts to end veteran homelessness.

What we have in place
  • We currently have two staff members ready to assist with this project, which should make it easy for you to get started. We also have all current member information available, and the ability to provide any other information you need.
How this will help
This project will save us $5,848 , allowing us to focus on the needs and interests of homeless veterans by establishing relationships with the new administration in the White House and leadership at the Department of Veterans Affairs.

Membership supports our work to advocate and educate the administration, Congress, and other key federal stakeholders, as well as continue to expand and improve our efforts to help service providers across the country end veteran homelessness. Expanding our coalition of service providers helps us amplify the voices of homeless veterans and brings us closer to our goal of ensuring every veteran has a place to call home.

Our mission

The National Coalition for Homeless Veterans (NCHV) is the leading authority on homeless veterans' issues and the only national organization solely focused on ending veteran homelessness. We work to achieve our mission by promoting collaboration, shaping policy, building service capacity, ensuring accountability, and managing a referral helpline for veterans experiencing and at-risk of homelessness. We are the resource and technical assistance center for a national network of community-based service providers and local, state, and federal agencies that provide housing, employment services, case management, legal aid, and other supportive services to thousands of veterans experiencing or at-risk of homelessness each year.

What we do

The National Coalition for Homeless Veterans (NCHV) - a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization governed by a 23-member board of directors - is the resource and technical assistance center for a national network of community-based service providers and local, state and federal agencies that provide emergency and supportive housing, food, health services, job training and placement assistance, legal aid and case management support for hundreds of thousands of homeless veterans each year.

NCHV also serves as the primary liaison between the nation's care providers, Congress and the Executive Branch agencies charged with helping them succeed in their work. NCHV's advocacy has strengthened and increased funding for virtually every federal homeless veteran assistance program in existence today.
