What We Need
  • Audit of existing Employee Handbook, or internal communications regarding employment policies
  • Edit or creation of a new Employee Handbook, which may include any of the following: Standards of Conduct, Work Schedules, Leave Policies, Termination Policies, Safety and Security, Anti-Discrimination policies, Compensation and Benefits policies, any Non-Disclosure Agreements or Conflict of Interest statements that may apply, and any other pertinent information
Additional Details

The current handbook was professionally prepared in 2005, with various revisions in the meantime. It could use an audit, especially in light of recent growth in numbers of part-time employees.

What We Have In Place
  • We currently have an existing professionally prepared HR manual, which should make it easy for you to get started. We also have dedicated staff for questions and HR expert on our Board, and the ability to provide any other information you need.
How This Will Help
This project will save us $2,430 , allowing us to pay for additional storage units to temporarily house a large overflow of donated musical instruments in wait to be delivered to schools and children who could not otherwise afford musical instruments

Musicopia and sister organization Dancing Classrooms Philly find themselves in the unique position that due to career shifts and COVID-19-related needs, 11 out of 15 staff members are in new or expanded roles, including a new Executive Director. We have had a large growth in the number of part-time employees and the HR manual needs an audit to make sure it is addressing the unique needs of these employees.

  • Volunteer Manager provides Professional with existing Employee Handbook (if applicable), internal communications regarding employment policies and any other employment policies in place that may not be clearly communicated
Milestone 1: Audit of Existing Policies
  • Professional reviews existing materials, and asks any clarifying questions
  • Professional identifies any existing policies that should be modified
  • Professional identifies any new policies or areas that should be addressed and included
  • Volunteer Manager provides feedback
Milestone 2: Outline of Handbook
  • Professional drafts a detailed outline
  • Professional incorporates Volunteer Manager’s feedback
Milestone 3: Writing & Delivery of Handbook
  • Professional drafts the Employee Handbook
  • Volunteer Manager provides any additional feedback
  • Volunteer Manager delivers final draft
