Our mission
The mission of The GEMS Camp (Girls interested in Engineering, Mathematics, and Science) is to build confidence in urban teen girls in grades 7-12 through five core areas called the 5 Karat Gems - Academics, Career, Creativity, Leadership, and Service - so that they will be successful in STEM studies and careers. GEMS' vision is to change the trajectory of generational poverty for underrepresented girls' families via college and career readiness.
Testimonials
Catherine was phenomenal! She is kind and meticulous about her work. I loved how she took the time to interview me about my organization before getting started. This really helped us id4ntify the right students and their stories. Catherine was an excellent communicator, letting me know her progress for each testimonial she produced. The girls really enjoyed her! I can't wait to get these added to the website. I highly recommend her to others.
I enjoyed working with Ms. Saki Milton, Founder and Executive Director of The GEMS Camp. She made the connections I needed to complete the project and was responsive to my questions. I was very impressed by her dedication to the many girls who have had the good fortune to attend The GEMS Camp.
