Additional details
Hello!
SAJE www.saje.net is a partner of the https://www.southlaclimatecommons.org/, a collaborative of 5 nonpfrofits in South Los Angeles. The South LA Climate Commons is a year long participatory planning process designed to strengthen community-level climate resilience and put decision-making power in the hands of people living and working along the Slauson Corridor. We are just about to wrap up our year long process and we are working on a report that we need design support with.Approx 70pgs
What we have in place
- Our internal deadline is end of January so we will be using December/January to write and would ideally want someone to work on design end of January/Early February.
We have
Maps,Tables, Infographics (made through Canva)
How this will help
This project will save us $1,792 , allowing us to use the additional funding for other resources. The grant itself was not a big pot of money to split between all of our organizations, a lot of the work we have been doing because we love our work.
This is a Transformative Climate Communities Planning Effort which gives us the opportunity to apply for an implementation grant with the State of California which will fund millions of dollars for the Slauson Corridor in South LA. Along with our report we will be doing an end of grant presentation and producing a video.

Our mission
SAJE builds community leadership and power for economic justice.
What we do
SAJE focuses on healthy housing, tenant rights and equitable development. SAJE is guided by a vision that all people have a right to the city, and that we can build a movement for change that addresses the root causes and conditions of structural oppression, leading to the creation of a just economy. We envision a society where economic benefits and opportunities are equitably distributed, where communities are stable, and where workers and tenants have the same rights, stature, and decision-making power as corporations and property owners.
