Organizational Strategy Call

Call details

What we'd like to talk about

We would like to brainstorm ideas for creating a strategic plan for our organization.

Additional context

We're a non-profit operating on the Eastside of Detroit since the 1980s. We're focused on community and people development and place-based sustainable development. We develop people, places, and plans for sustained growth in our community. ECN primarily works in youth development, climate equity, business development, and community organizing/planning. Our last strategic plan was completed in 2014, and we would like to refresh this for the current and near-future climate.

"Phone calls" are 1 hour, one-time calls with an organization. Learn the difference between volunteering on a Phone call and a Project here.

Our mission

Eastside Community Network develops people, places and plans for sustainable neighborhood growth on Detroit's Eastside.

What we do

For over 36 years ECN has worked tirelessly to develop partnerships, plans, platforms and programs that center the needs of residents and amplify their voices in decision-making spheres. To that end, ECN drives initiatives that will make a positive social impact through the following areas of action:
- Climate Equity
- Community Organizing & Planning (COP)
- Economic Development
- Youth Development

Our work is rooted in our belief that true, lasting change begins with people. For this reason, we embed community participation into every piece of our work. The plans developed by our COP Department are developed and governed by residents; our Climate Equity projects are designed and constructed collaboratively with residents in their own neighborhoods; our economic development efforts center the voices and needs of local business owners; and our youth programming infuses academic, personal and leadership development that empower and equip our youth for the next stage of life.

All these efforts work to create sustainable change that positively impacts our neighborhoods and makes individual differences in each resident's life.

Testimonials

(No testimonial has been submitted by Kanishka)
I had a great call with Kanishka and Angela from the Eastside Community Network. They were very professional and did a great job getting me up to speed by providing relevant information on current projects, organizational structure, and past strategic planning initiatives. I look forward to the possibility of continuing to work with them in the future.
