Employee Handbook
Employee Handbook
Project details
What we need
- Audit of existing Employee Handbook, or internal communications regarding employment policies
- Edit or creation of a new Employee Handbook, which may include any of the following: Standards of Conduct, Work Schedules, Leave Policies, Termination Policies, Safety and Security, Anti-Discrimination policies, Compensation and Benefits policies, any Non-Disclosure Agreements or Conflict of Interest statements that may apply, and any other pertinent information
What we have in place
- We currently have draft employee handbook, which should make it easy for you to get started. We also have operational and hr policies, and the ability to provide any other information you need.
How this will help
This project will save us $2,430 , allowing us to focus more resources on direct service.
We are a gang-intervention program which has gone through significant reorganization in the last few years. We have adapted and shifted practices, procedures etc during that time, but have not comprehensively updated employee handbook to reflect the current work and expectations.
Project plan
Our mission
Our mission is to equip Dorchester students with the attitude, skills and experience to graduate from college. Our goal at College Bound is to transform neighborhoods in Boston that have been stuck in cycles where shootings, violence and gang activity are the norm to those where citizens are thriving and realizing their full potential in save, prosperous communities.
What we do
College Bound Dorchester is a Boston nonprofit poised to be a national model for using education to end systemic generational urban poverty and violence through its Uncornered solution.
VISION: To transform neighborhoods through education by ending generational cycles of urban poverty, violence and lack of opportunity.
MISSION:
To equip young people with the attitude, skills and experience to graduate from college, focusing on engaging gang-involved youth to become positive leaders in their community.
Founded in 2009, College Bound launched the Boston Uncornered solution in 2016. It is the nation's only corner to college solution that engages gang-involved individuals who we call Core Influencers.
The Uncornered solution sets the high expectation of college graduation, trains trusted peer mentors to support youth and provides a weekly stipend to afford young people the space to pursue opportunities that enable them to turn away from the streets for good.
Testimonials
Kathy was an amazing resource for us! Not only was she a wealth of information, she was genuinely interested in learning about our work which ultimately helped ensure that our handbook better reflected who we were as an organization. I greatly appreciate her organization, process and initiative with this project!
Over the past few months, I've had a great time working with College Bound Dorchester/Uncornered. They are a great organization with a dedicated staff. Peg was organized, responsive and open to suggestions. She has an excellent knowledge of the organization, and was always prepared for our meetings. It was a pleasure to work with her!
