Project Details

What We Need
  • Analysis of the board of directors' governance practices, stewardship, membership, revenue generation and executive management
  • Overview of takeaways and trends from executive leadership, head of development, and board member interviews
  • Identification of the board’s strengths and recommendations for areas of improvement for board members collectively and individually
Additional Details

I would like a board self-assessment survey tool and subsequently analysis to help board members better understand their role and serve as effective ambassadors of our mission and fundraisers to support our operations and programs.

What We Have In Place
  • We currently have prior board self assessment instruments and results, which should make it easy for you to get started. We also have a highly motivated governance committee, and the ability to provide any other information you need.
How This Will Help
This project will save us $11,823 , allowing us to serve more students by awarding scholarships to community college students and developing high quality programs to promote retention and graduation rates for vulnerable student populations.

We have a large board of directors and varying levels of board experience and I would like to build a better understanding of board member roles and responsibilities to serve as an effective ambassador for our mission and fundraiser.

  • Professional receives a list of board members, head of development and relevant executive management to interview or survey
  • Professional drafts survey and interview questions for the key stakeholders

  • Professional conducts surveys and interviews with key stakeholders, such as Board members, Executive Director, head of development, and executive management
  • Professional reviews any relevant materials regarding the board’s performance

  • Volunteer Manager provides feedback to Professional’s summary
