Digital Wish just enlisted Jordan Bone, professional NBA Point Guard for the Detroit Pistons as Digital Wish's spokesperson! Jordan, and his brother Josh Bone (Coach UTenn) will be putting out a challenge to the cities of Detroit, Nashville, and Knoxville, to raise donations to supply hotspots and laptops to children-in-need. It's a message of equity. We're looking for an accomplished writer to do blog posts, press stories, and website text for both Digital Wish and the Jordan Bone initiative.

What we have in place
  • We currently have loads of starter text and videos, which should make it easy for you to get started. We also have a business plan to raise $24 million for hotspots for kids, and the ability to provide any other information you need.
How this will help
This project will save us $3,002 , allowing us to donate more hotspots to kids in need.

This is a very public project and the first time we will be doing scaled press for an initiative. The NBA celebrity involvement of Jordan Bone will escalate the message and help us achieve our mission to solve the digital divide. We are looking to develop stories to post on potential partner websites such as NationalPTA, and huge teleconferencing partner blogs.

Bring technology to classrooms in order to prepare students to thrive in the global economy.

What we do

Digital Wish is a 501c-3 nonprofit on a mission to solve technology shortfalls in education. Every child deserves a technology-rich education to provide them with the skills necessary to thrive in the global economy. Digital Wish partners with technology providers to distribute free or reduced-cost educational technology such as refurbished laptops, tablets and internet "hotspots" to schools and teachers. Digital Wish manages a community of 64k educators in the US, assisting them with their technology needs through lesson plans, fundraiser campaigns for their "technology wishes" and access to affordable educational technology used in the classroom. Since its inception in 2006, Digital Wish has granted over 31,000 technology wishes to educators worth over $17 Million, and administered grants together with Verizon, Dell, Motorola, Henderson Foundation, and Microsoft.

Copywriting Project

Heather was absolutely great. I went into the project not knowing much about Digital Wish, but she gave me the resources I needed to succeed, and stepped back to let me do the writing, including press releases and social media content from scratch for a campaign to connect students to the internet.
