Project details
What we need
- An edited 1-3 minute video delivered in electronic format as agreed upon between the Professional and Organization, with HD quality as a master version, along with any agreed upon formats for final usage
Additional details
We are looking to create a short dance film utilizing modern dance choreography, professional photography stills and spoken word poetry. We have compiled a collection of material for this project and are looking for an experienced editor to help us create an artistic short film.
What we have in place
- We currently have all of the footage prepared for the choreography and stills, which should make it easy for you to get started. We also have a spoken word artist ready to create an original score, and the ability to provide any other information you need.
How this will help
This project will save us $5,422 , allowing us to to cover costs for a corresponding fundraiser, as well as provide printed study guide materials for students.
Our main work is a live multi media dance performance, and through the 2020/21 pandemic shut down our company worked remotely to continue to be together and create art that inspires healing from sexual violence. This project will help us to connect meaningfully with audiences in a remote way, create a special fundraising tool and a potential film for dance showcases nationally. Thank you for your assistance.
Project plan
Our mission
To eradicate stigma, secrecy and shame associated with surviving childhood sexual violence.
The Esperanza Dance Project is a community-based collaboration that uses a multimedia dance performance to educate about the issue of childhood sexual violence and deliver a message of hope, strength and empowerment.
What we do
Esperanza Dance Project's vision is that all high school students in Arizona learn to recognize warning signs associated with sexual abuse, feel comfortable discussing it openly and compassionately, and become familiar with local resources for support.
We do this by providing a multi-media performance to address childhood sexual violence through dance, music, and spoken word in a way that empowers teens. We provide tools for discussion and understanding through a study guide, written by behavioral health professionals. Additionally we provide local information about ongoing peer advocacy and support connections in the community, and host meaningful question and answer sessions following each performance.
