Project details

What we need
  • Specific copy from one document (up to 1000 words) translated from one language to one other of the Organization's choice
  • Note: If you need more than 1000 words translated or copy translated into more than one language, please post additional versions of this project
Additional details

We are looking for Spanish translations of some of our grade school educational activities. Out of three activities, two are already mostly translated by one of our past interns, but we'd appreciate another set of eyes from someone with more experience.
Anyone with familiarity of marine mammal terminology would be an ideal fit for this project, but we will also be able to direct the volunteer to documents that already contain some of these terms as a guide.

What we have in place
  • We currently have copy in Word documents (or Google Docs), which should make it easy for you to get started. We also have colleagues who can verify jargon for this topic as needed, and the ability to provide any other information you need.
How this will help
This project will save us $7,098 , allowing us to free up staff time to develop additional content, as well as allocate funds for printing activities.

In an effort to reach a broader range of students in our education efforts, we want to offer some of our existing English resources in other languages. Especially when remote learning is likely to take place for a while, it seems like the right time to prioritize this work.

Our mission

We are guided by a simple principle - whales play a critical role in the health of our marine and global ecosystems.

Our mission is to amaze people with the wonder of whales and dolphins and inspire global action to protect them as key contributors to the ecosystem.

We are currently working to prevent the first modern-day extinctions of North Atlantic right whales and Southern Resident Orcas in U.S. waters.

What we do

We are the leading global charity dedicated to the conservation and protection of whales and dolphins. We defend these remarkable creatures against the many threats
they face through campaigns, advising governments and NGOs, conservation projects, field research, and rescue.

Our vision of a world where every whale and dolphin is safe and free is not a noble gesture, but an essential means to sustain the future of our Earth by increasing the planet's climate resiliency.

The sunlit surface of the ocean is home to phytoplankton - tiny plant-like organisms which produce at least half of the Earth's oxygen, serve as the base of the marine food web, and combat climate change as they sequester carbon. Whales recycle and move nutrients to surface waters where they act as the ocean's gardeners, fertilizing the phytoplankton on which our planet depends.

Testimonials

Sandra was wonderful to work with. She was quick to respond and finished the project earlier than anticipated. From the interview to the final check in, she was professional and cordial. I wouldn't hesitate to work with her again!
