Flexible Marketing Strategy Support

Project details

What we need
  • Ongoing marketing strategy support for 10-15 hours over the course of 4 weeks
  • Support may include: defining your marketing goals, determining the right marketing channels, messaging your program, branding, or defining your target audience
  • Note: We devised this project to connect nonprofits and volunteers for more flexible, more immediate impact. We strongly suggest you start with 4 weeks and decide from there if you'd like to continue working.
Additional details

JCA Kensington Clubs, an (originally in-person) twelve-year-old social day program for older adults living at home with early-stage memory loss, has gone virtual. Formally, this Club offered a fantastic in-person program. Now we need to determine a strategy to market its new VIRTUAL program to our referral base: doctors, care managers, memory clinics, social workers, etc. for sustainability.

What we have in place
  • We currently have new website page (pending), new dues package, and brochure, which should make it easy for you to get started. We also have supportive referral base, and the ability to provide any other information you need.
How this will help
This project will save us $2,397 , allowing us to reinvest in Kensington Club's new virtual program by redirecting dues back into the business to establish, to grow, and position itself for long-term success (or until 55+ older adults can gather.)

KC is 1 of 2 programs at JCA that are fee-based. (others have govt grants) If we cannot successfully market this virtual program to build membership, the program may be cut. Currently, there is not a marketing/outreach specialist at our agency so each program develops its own. We have gone from an in-person organized group respite program to a virtual program. It may not give care partners "respite" as they once knew it, but it gives peace of mind knowing their loved one has a purpose.

Our mission

JCA provides the programs and services that support older adults and their families and builds bridges across generations.

JCA is:
*Built on the fundamental values of honoring our parents and strengthening our community.
*Committed to serving the Jewish community and people of all faiths and ethnicities regardless of their ability to pay.
*Person- and family-centered, and thus responsive to the specific needs, values and preferences of the individuals we serve and their families.
*A community partner with government, private funders, other nonprofits and for-profit businesses.
*Driven by the spirit, commitment and hard work of our volunteers and staff.

What we do

At JCA, it's all about aging!

JCA represents something different to every person we proudly serve.

To the isolated senior with no means of getting around, we are a smiling ElderBus driver who cheerfully helps with canes, walkers and wheelchairs and even carries packages with a smile.

To the concerned family member suddenly faced with overwhelming health or home care issues, we are the confident voice of an information specialist who understands precisely the services needed to care for a beloved parent or spouse and can access our unique, comprehensive database to find needed resources close to home.

For the senior who is frail or suffering from Alzheimer's disease or other challenges, we are a safe and caring place that provides dignified assistance at adult day centers that are second to none.

To the older job seeker, we are a friend, advocate, teacher and guide.

JCA is all of this and so much more!

We are vibrant intergenerational programs that build bridges and shatter stereotypes as they help young students succeed in school and life. We are different faces in various places -- but united in our mission of helping local seniors experience the positive side of aging while making the National Capital Area a great place to age.
