Project details

What we need
  • 3-5 one hour calls with an events professional covering topics like concept, general structure, logistics, and target attendees
  • A written summary of topics discussed, including event concept and theme, general plan, estimated budget (optional), and articulated goals (feel free to use this template as a starting point)
  • Note: This project does not include on-site event coordination or support on the day of the event
Additional details

This will be a collaborative virtual music event/fundraiser.

What we have in place
  • We have 3 people involved in planning, but I'm the main coordinator, so I can get whatever is needed to support this process.
There are 3 main nonprofits collaborating on this event (thus the planning team of 3)
It will be an online music fundraiser, using pre-recorded performances for the most part, and will include (we hope) and online Silent Auction (which we could use help with too).
How this will help
This project will save us $3,002 , allowing us to reduce the outlay for the event, making it a more affordable venture for all 3 groups.

This event was planned for October, before the pandemic, and all 3 organizations have been almost ground to a halt. This event could bring new attention, energy and resources to all of us!

Our mission

COPA Mission:
To promote peace, justice and sustainability by creating and supporting peace-inspiring projects and events that model cooperative decision-making, alliance-building resource-sharing, youth leadership, and the use of nonviolent strategies.

Youth and Peace Conference Mission:
To collaboratively organize and present an annual youth-led conference targeted for youth ages 13-24 that explores and highlights diverse issues regarding violence prevention and peace practices through workshops, speakers, performances, dialogue circles and a resource fair.

What we do

The Culture of Peace Alliance (COPA) provides fiscal sponsorship for a range of community-based peacebuilding and violence prevention programs and groups. The Annual Youth and Peace Conference is one of the programs affiliated with COPA. The Youth and Peace Conference (YPC) started in 2012 and this year is presenting the 10th Annual YPC.

Each year's conference is planned and presented by a Youth Leadership Team made up primarily of high school age youth, who select the theme and title for the event, along with keynote speakers, workshops, and special activities to highlight the theme. The Youth Team works collaboratively with an Adult Logistics Team composed of representatives from interested community organizations and businesses.
