What we need
  • Setup of selected accounting software (e.g. Aplos, Araize)
  • Training and guidelines on how to manage system and generate basic reports
Additional details

Transition from cash based to accural in Quickbooks and set up better tracking and internal controls.

What we have in place
  • We currently have quickbooks online, which should make it easy for you to get started. We also have good communication, and the ability to provide any other information you need.
How this will help
This project will save us $5,409 , allowing us to subsidize the cost of our artist membership for underserved artists rather than hiring a consultant.

DVAA is an 89-year-old community arts organization that has grown significantly over the last 4 years. We provide artists with exhibition space and growth opportunities. We also provide equitable opportunities for local artists by opening up our space to perspectives and artists who may not have access to many resources. This project will allow us to be more competitive in the grant market and allow us to better communicate our financial growth and goals.

  • Volunteer Manager shares detailed description of existing financial record keeping and financial reporting system
  • Professional makes recommendations on accounting system reports to address the Organization's needs
  • Note: If necessary, Volunteer Manager may have Volunteer sign a Non Disclosure Agreement (NDA) prior to sharing and discussing Organization’s financial information

Milestone 1: Implementation
  • Professional conducts financial data migration
  • Professional and Volunteer Manager check accuracy of migration
  • Professional sets up account admin privileges for Organization’s designated admin users

Milestone 2: Training & Handover
  • Professional provides basic training for Volunteer Manager and supporting staff for tracking and reporting needs including guidelines for continued use of system
  • Professional reviews above guidelines and tips with Volunteer Manager
  • Professional is available for up to two weeks to address questions as Volunteer Manager starts to adopt new bookkeeping system

Our mission

Da Vinci Art Alliance was founded by a group of sixteen Italian immigrant artists in 1931 who sought both a space of creative refuge and social and cultural engagement in a world that largely ignored the needs and desires of immigrants. Today we remain committed to ensuring equitable opportunities for creative people, specifically focusing on providing a platform for individuals traditionally marginalized in institutions, such as immigrants, the queer community, disabled people, elders and youth, individuals with low income, and all the intersections in-between. We do this through free public exhibitions and programming, funded fellowships and residencies, STEAM workshops, Memory Care workshops, and an annual sustainability centered arts and science festival, the Everyday Futures Fest. Running through the core of everything we do at DVAA is our mission of Building Community Through Art. We utilize art making and appreciation as a tool of connection to build relationships between disparate people who continue to use DVAA as a creative refuge space.
