We are developing a new fundraising project and need help writing an effective appeal.

What we have in place
  • We currently have a project overview and target audience, which should make it easy for you to get started. We also have samples of past appeals, and the ability to provide any other information you need.
How this will help
This project will save us $4,212 , allowing us to continue to enhance the quality of life in our city through the preservation, transformation, and promotion of green spaces.

We preserve green space in our City and own over 20 unique properties. Maintaining these properties is our largest expense. Through this new fundraising project, we hope to cover some of our maintenance costs by allowing businesses and organizations to sponsor a property. If we successfully get some or all of our maintenance costs covered, we will be able to allocate other funds into acquiring and developing new properties or programs.

The Newport News Green Foundation enhances the quality of life in the City of Newport News through the preservation, transformation, and promotion of green spaces throughout the city.

What we do

The preservation of green space in a dynamic urban environment as a means to enhance quality of life, increase property value and support the growth of the city.
Transforming vacant and/or blighted properties into more visually attractive spaces.
When possible, making preserved spaces useful, active spaces.
Forming partnerships with like-minded groups and organizations to educate citizens, promote resiliency within the city, and support projects that complement our mission.
