Project details
What we need
- Ongoing marketing strategy support for 10-15 hours over the course of 4 weeks
- Support may include: defining your marketing goals, determining the right marketing channels, messaging your program, branding, or defining your target audience
- Note: We devised this project to connect nonprofits and volunteers for more flexible, more immediate impact. We strongly suggest you start with 4 weeks and decide from there if you'd like to continue working.
Additional details
Hunger Free America is looking to engage in a voter mobilization campaign engaging disenfranchised community members to register and vote. We want to highlight how voting is empowerment and can directly improve their lives and their families.
What we have in place
- We currently have the primary messaging and campaign approach solidified, which should make it easy for you to get started. We also have broad senior staff support and, and the ability to provide any other information you need.
How this will help
This project will save us $2,397 , allowing us to direct those funds to staff working in community organizing and our Food Action Board program, which works to empower low income community members in using their voice to advocate for policy change.
HFA's mission is to create a people powered movement to enact the policies and programs needed to end domestic hunger. HFA strongly believes in empowering the communities we serve to be vocal leaders in this movement and voting is one way to use this voice. This campaign will focus on creating a correlation between voting and power. Power to determine if they have enough food, living wages, access to jobs, health care, affordable housing, etc.
Project plan
Our mission
HUNGER FREE AMERICA (tm) (formerly known as the New York City Coalition Against Hunger) is a nonpartisan, national nonprofit group working to enact the policies and programs needed to end domestic hunger and ensure that all Americans have sufficient access to nutritious food.
What we do
We are both a direct service and advocacy organization -- with each component strengthening the other. As a direct service provider, we assist low-income families obtain aid from government programs such as the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) -- formerly called the Food Stamp program -- and the Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) program so that people struggling to pay their bills have access to nutritious food. We also connect families nationwide with private food resources. Because our staff works daily on the front lines of hunger, and because we empower low-income people to speak out on their own behalf, that makes us one of the nation's most effective advocates for improved economic and public policies.
