Additional details

What is the value of having a diverse, vibrant, and unique local economy? At RMMFI, we work with entrepreneurs who are artists, healers, self-taught chefs, and visionaries who start unique businesses designed to meet underserved market segments. Beyond the individual wealth generation potential, what are the community-wide benefits to local entrepreneurship? How do unique businesses that offer products and services not found at mainstream retailers enhance communities? What does research show?

What we have in place
  • We have some ideas for exploration/research/literature reviews in this space, and are looking for a volunteer with a research background with a curious mindset to help collect and synthesize reports, literature, and research to help answer these keep questions about local economic vibrancy, uniqueness, and value-add for the community.
How this will help
This project will save us $7,888 , allowing us to direct more funds directly to entrepreneurs as they launch, grow, and adapt their business amidst COVID-19.

Community impact is important to RMMFI. Beyond the individual entrepreneur, we know there are community-wide benefits to local entrepreneurship and vibrant local economies. This project will help us better understand those community-wide impacts. As RMMFI looks to expand to new communities, this background research combined with our internal data will help us Build the Case for Support as we launch in communities across the state.
