This will be part of a policy project to educate local policymakers. The focus is on the need for different parts of government to work together with private businesses to recruit, train, employ and retain direct care workers to help frail older adults remain safely in their homes
The project has two goals. One is the obvious -- help get our policymakers to solve the policy problem, which is significant. The other is to engage older adults in advocacy on issues that matter to them. This latter is what makes our organization special. We don't just "serve" older adults. We engage with them to ensure they feel valued and are able to contribute to their community in meaningful ways.
