What we need
  • Feedback on the current website’s layout, user functionality, mobile-friendliness, visual design, content, and other key features
  • Clear articulation of the Organization’s goals for the website
  • Recommendations for improvements to help achieve the Organization’s desired goals
  • Note: If you are looking for a more specific, in-depth audit of your website's design and usability, try our Website Usability Audit project
Additional details

Our website needs help! Our organization is part of a network of Junior Achievements around the country. Our website is a nested website under the JA USA platform. And, in our opinion, it's just not working. It's too complicated for what we need. We want a simplified website that helps direct people to volunteer opportunities and ways to get involved (as well as donate).

What we have in place
  • We want our website to be easy to use for parents/teachers as they continue to navigate remote learning, as well as for volunteers who may still be able to help our students virtually.

Help us help students during this stressful time. We have staff ready and eager to help with this project.
How this will help
This project will save us $4,762 , allowing us to reach students virtually during COVID.

Our mission is to inspire and prepare young people to succeed in a global economy. Each year, we work with over 3,000 volunteers to provide financial literacy, work readiness, and entrepreneurship programming to K-12 youth. A task that is now more challenging due to the COVID-19 pandemic. We want our website to be easy to use for parents/teachers as they continue to navigate remote learning, as well as for volunteers who may still be able to help our students virtually.

Our mission

To inspire and prepare young people to succeed in a global economy.

What we do

Junior Achievement (JA) inspires and prepares young people to succeed in a global economy. Through nationally developed core curriculum focused on financial literacy, work readiness, and entrepreneurship, JA of NorCal positively impacts the lives of youth by connecting students, community, and business together in a hands-on learning environment. JA's volunteer-based delivery model, merged with the latest technology, creates a blended learning environment that provides students a relevant, responsive, and innovative portfolio of learning. This experiential approach creates for students a strong connection between school and work; they learn that future success is directly tied to school success.
Since 1950, JA NorCal has utilized corporate and community volunteer-led programming to educate thousands of K-12th grade students on the latest 21st Century skills. In the past year 98,488 Northern California students participated in JA experiential learning programs. In 2015-2016 JA of NorCal will utilize and support 4,074 volunteers to teach JA program curriculum to 101,850 students across 23 Northern California counties.

Testimonials

Mary was amazing! She went above and beyond and truly understood our project. She was flexible, thought outside of the box. Highly recommend! She did a deep dive audit on our website to make suggestions on what we could improve. We are a little hindered by the fact that we have a nested website with our parent organization, but the suggestions were so great and professional that we were able to share them with our HQ team and they were receptive to the feedback. We couldn't implement everything but the roadmap and framework documents that Mary provided were incredibly useful.
