What we need
  • Minor updates to Organization’s existing website (e.g. adding new copy and/or images, customizing styles/themes, basic layout revising, etc.)
  • Training for Organization staff on how to make minor updates going forward (if applicable)
Additional details

We have a relatively new website we really love and find it easy to make updates, but we need some help with backend maintenance. We use WordPress, but need someone to help us create a regular site backup, check for platform updates and make sure our plugins are tidy.

What we have in place
  • We're able to make basic updates ourselves, but need someone with more "backend" WordPress experience to help keep things running smoothly for us.
How this will help
This project will save us $3,666 , allowing us to direct those resources to helping babies and families impacted by addiction.

A local agency helped us build this beautiful new website a year ago, and we find it really easy to manage updates, etc. But, we need help to make sure the backend of the site is all buttoned up and functional...and that we're not missing anything in its management.

Prep: Share Scope of Changes
  • Volunteer Manager shares link to existing website with Professional
  • Volunteer Manager provides list of required updates to make (including sharing content or image assets, as necessary)
  • Both parties review our pro-tips for Organizations and Volunteers to ensure the project is set up for success

Milestone 1: Kick-Off Meeting
  • Volunteer Manager and Professional connect to discuss requested updates, and agree on a project timeline
  • Volunteer Manager provides Professional with credentials to access the website admin portal

Milestone 2: Review Updates
  • Professional makes the requested updates to the website (if available, the changes should be made in a test or development environment first)
  • Volunteer Manager reviews each update, and reports any remaining issues to the Professional

Milestone 3: Implementation of Updates
  • Professional implements updates to the live website
  • Professional troubleshoots any issues that may arise immediately after implementing changes on the live site

Milestone 4: Training (Optional)
  • If requested, Professional trains up to 3 team members on how to update site and resolve minor issues going forward
