What we need
- Implementation of Tech Systems Review or equivalent technology systems plan
Additional details
We need a platform to host short videos and handouts for teachers to access throughout the school year. The platform should also limit the number of credits/certificates a teacher is allowed so we can budget to pay the artists for video royalties. We have to offer the videos free to Hartford Public School teachers but are curious about monetizing subscriptions or pay-per-access from outside the school district.
What we have in place
- We currently have pilot programs and workarounds to collect videos from artist, which should make it easy for you to get started. We also have a video editor in the works to join the team, and the ability to provide any other information you need.
How this will help
This project will save us $3,926 , allowing us to give teachers access to virtual programs and potentially monetize the effort to expand our reach beyond Hartford
With the uncertainty of what school will look like in the fall, we need to stay relevant to the school district by transitioning as many in-school programs to virtual before school starts. We need a way for teachers to access the video library to enhance their lessons, to continue paying artists for their expertise, and to track or limit teacher access for grant/budgeting purposes.

Our mission
Working in partnership with school systems and artistic communities, Hartford Performs infuses and integrates arts and cultural experiences into teaching and learning in ways that enrich the student experience and improve outcomes across the curriculum.
What we do
We help students learn by giving them creative new entry points into classroom subjects. We do this by aggregating our community's considerable cultural resources and focusing them on the needs of Hartford students. Our teaching artists use music, dance, theater and visual arts to help kids grasp lessons in science, math, English and social studies. For instance, kids learn how molecules move by dancing like them, and about mathematical patterns by drumming them.
We also help teachers to use art strategies in their classrooms to make their lessons more engaging and effective.
Some 10,000 students in all 30 PreK-Grade 8 public schools in our city benefit from our system each year.
