What We Need
  • Initial assessment of areas of strength, targets for improvement and specific areas of focus desired for the coaching sessions
  • Up to 6 coaching sessions exploring areas such as motivation, empowerment, collaboration, communication, giving / receiving feedback & conflict management
  • Wrap-up session with actionable steps and advice moving forward as a manager
What We Have In Place
  • - I am very honest and self-reflective, so I can give you an honest assessment of my strengths and weaknesses.
    - This is my second management position and I have over three years of management experience, so I bring a wealth of experiences to the table to discuss. I've had many great employees and some more challenging.
    - I am a proactive learner. I like to read books and articles about management and leadership and I am open to new ideas and resources.
How This Will Help
This project will save us $7,248 , allowing us to invest further in the professional development of our staff and we will have more money for team-building activities.

I am an accountable and compassionate leader. I care deeply about my team and I recognize how my management style and skills impacts their effectiveness and Kids-TALK's greater mission and goals. I am always looking for ways to improve my skills and this is a great opportunity for me to grow further as a leader and be a better manager to my team.

Project Plan

Prep: Initial Assessment
  • Professional and Volunteer Manager discuss perceived areas of strength, areas of improvement, and asses direct report or team motivation and morale
  • Professional and Volunteer Manager decide on specific areas to focus on and goals for each coaching session
  • Volunteer Manager and Professional discuss if feedback from direct reports, peers or managers should be part of the process
Milestone 1: Coaching Sessions
  • In-depth coaching sessions on topics like motivation, empowerment, collaboration, communication, giving / receiving feedback & conflict management
  • Ensure each session is followed by a trial period to apply the skills and report back at subsequent sessions on the outcomes, learnings and follow-up questions
  • [Suggested Session] Motivating and empowering direct reports to achieve the most productivity, creativity and job satisfaction
  • [Suggested Session] Effective communication and strategies how to give and receive feedback to ensure a constructive relationship between managers and direct reports
  • [Suggested Session] Strategies to ensure successful collaboration between managers and direct reports like establishing areas of ownership and effective delegation
  • [Suggested Session] Conflict management tactics for dealing with interpersonal conflict within teams or across teams

What We Do

Kids-TALK Children's Advocacy Center (CAC) serves children through the age of 17 years of age providing comprehensive services to suspected victims of sexual abuse, severe physical abuse, witness to violent crime and other psychological trauma. The Kids-TALK CAC partners with a multidisciplinary team of law enforcement officials, Children's Protective Services' workers, forensic interviewers, medical and mental health workers and child advocates work collaboratively to respond to allegations of child maltreatment.


I highly recommend Estefania to anyone who is looking to better understand themselves as a leader and sharpen their skillset! Estefania is a great listener and very insightful; she was able to provide me with very helpful feedback on my strengths and opportunities as a leader.
