Project details

What we need
  • Easily accessible fast facts about your Organization or one of your program(s)
  • A consolidated list of frequently asked questions and answers
  • A combination of the facts and FAQs, totaling no more than 2 pages
  • Note: This project is for copy only - for graphic design support, please use the Branded Digital Assets and/or Infographic project
Additional details

We are getting ready for a major fundraising campaign and have not yet developed a formal "case for support" or "case statement." This would help us get there.

What we have in place
  • We currently have annual reports and a brochure, which should make it easy for you to get started. We also have a VERY rough draft theory of change, and the ability to provide any other information you need.
How this will help
This project will save us $2,397 , allowing us to focus on supporting our partner organizations navigate this crisis with reduced staffing and pivoting to online programming.

We're on the front end of the "Emergent Strategy" model of nonprofit work, oriented around cultivating collaboration among nonprofits and providing space for POC-led org's in the midst of the displacement crisis. We're more mission driven than program driven. That's a harder case to make for folks very committed to "how many people did you serve last year?" We could use someone outside our system to help us make that argument in a compelling way.

About the org

Our mission

The Oakland Peace Center provides needed space, hosts collaborative events and trainings, and creates a network of emotional and spiritual support for the 30+ organizations who partner in its work. These organizations pursue access, opportunity, justice, and inner peace throughout the Bay Area each in their own way. They can turn to the Oakland Peace Center to fortify and amplify these efforts through solidarity and cross-pollination. The OPC inspires these organizations to participate in a vision larger than that of any individual or member organization.

What we do

We provide affordable space in the midst of the displacement crisis that particularly affects POC-led nonprofits.

We do cultural preservation programming through the arts.

We provide capacity-building support to small nonprofits.

We amplify the work of our partner organizations so our community can engage in the work of ending violence with great organizations they might not know about otherwise.

Testimonials

Suzanne was prompt and efficient, and when our staff got overwhelmed with other work, she was also patient. Plus she really knew how to structure the type of document we were looking for and had good advice for the graphics we were going to add later.
