What we need
  • A set of professionally edited, high-resolution images delivered in JPEG or TIFF format optimized for use on the Organization's website, social media, or in printed design materials
  • Written specs describing all visual design elements, filters and text treatments used to ensure consistency for future related work

Our nonprofit has a giant pile of unprocessed raw images. Are you able to help us with photo editing? We need you.

What we have in place
  • We currently have terabytes of images on a web hosted DAM, which should make it easy for you to get started. We also have professional photog/editor and marketing lead, and the ability to provide any other information you need.
How this will help
This project will save us $1,792 , allowing us to generate far more finished images to share with our community

This project will free up our Director from having to process images for marketing. We have so many unprocessed images that can be used for many different purposes. This will get marketing images, and allow Director to focus on other areas.

Prep: Distribution of Materials & Input
  • Volunteer Manager provides background on the Organization and goals for the photos (intended usage & number of photos needing editing)
  • Volunteer Manager provides initial input on desired enhancements and optimizations to images including any brand assets to be included (ex: logos, taglines, brand colors, etc…)
  • Professional surveys the images provided by the volunteer manager to assess the condition and work required to satisfy the need
  • Professional and Volunteer Manager agree upon a timeline for initial feedback and final deliverables

Milestone 1: Initial Edits & Feedback
  • Professional edits and optimizes images including but not limited to color enhancement, retouching, removing unwanted details and applying filters
  • Professional adds watermarks or branding (if requested) and outputs the optimize images for review
  • Volunteer Manager provides clear feedback on editing choices and articulates additional areas of improvement

Milestone 2: Final Deliverables
  • Professional delivers high-resolution images to the Volunteer Manager optimized to desired use cases (web, social, print, etc…)
  • Professional provides written specs describing all visual elements, filters and text treatments used to ensure consistency for future related work
  • Organization credits the photos appropriately

Photo Start develops creative visual storytelling and digital skills, and inspires confidence in under-resourced young people.

Our program is designed to help under-resourced young people develop their creativity, technical skills, and self-confidence, while also providing them with a sense of purpose and the competencies they need to shape their own lives and contribute to the lives of others.
