Additional details
Amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, BGCT is offering a combination of virtual and in-house programming activities for Tucson's youth. 1 of our Clubhouses is open on a restricted basis, offering critical childcare services for 60 children of healthcare staff, first responders, and other essential workers. Hours are 8am-6pm. We are seeking a volunteer to compile a catalog of fun, engaging, and educational activities to keep these 60 kids busy during the week. (Examples can be provided.)
What we have in place
- We currently have a list of example activities, which should make it easy for you to get started. We also have a dedicated staff person to answer your questions, and the ability to provide any other information you need.
How this will help
This project will save us $6,886 , allowing us to offer 262 scholarships to youth who may not otherwise be able to afford attending the Clubs or becoming a Boys & Girls Clubs member. Every kid deserves a chance to succeed!
BGCT is committed to supporting Tucson's youth throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. Now more than ever, our main priority is to prevent further learning loss, keep them connected with their peers, and ensure they have opportunities to stay healthy and simply "just be a kid".

Our mission
The mission of Boys and Girls Clubs of Tucson is to provide young people in our community, especially those who need us most, with a clear path to reach their full potential and pursue their dreams.
What we do
BGCT's 6 Clubhouses offer 40+ after-school and summer programs to more than 12,000 at-risk youth each year.

Kristyn has been a joy to work with. She answered all of my questions in detail, clearly, and promptly so that the project wouldn't slow down. She was also very patient and understanding when it came to some health issues I was dealing with and made sure to continue working with me.
