What we need
  • Evaluation of current programmatic needs and how a virtual program can address them
  • A written document that summarizes the goals for your remote program, including how it differs from in-person program (if applicable)
  • Recommendations for an appropriate course of action to reach the desired objectives
Additional details

Develop a strategy for remote offering for the afterschool coding classes for middle schools, until know delivered in person and now needing to be offered remotely.

What we have in place
  • We currently have an in-person curriculum, which should make it easy for you to get started. We also have technology platforms: google classroom, Google hangout, Zoom, and the ability to provide any other information you need.
How this will help
This project will save us $5,848 , allowing us to focus on supplies for the kids.

It will allow us continue services to the kids who are now stranded at home.

  • Volunteer Manager provides Professional with a summary of program to be transitioned, including program outline, and any known or anticipated challenges
  • Volunteer Manager outlines the Organization’s mission statement, vision, and goals for remote work

  • Professional connects with Volunteer Manager for a brainstorming session to review existing services, programs, and preliminary program goals
  • Professional gathers information about the impact of those programs and services and any known problem areas

Milestone 2: Draft Recommendations
  • Professional drafts an initial assessment
  • Volunteer Manager reviews the assessment and provides feedback to Professional

Milestone 3: Final Recommendations & Next Steps
  • Professional incorporates Volunteer Manager’s feedback into the final recommendations document, including any additional information that the Volunteer Manager has requested
  • Professional delivers the final recommendations document, and provides advice on how the Organization can take the next steps to implement them

JerseySTEM is a grassroots 501(c) nonprofit organization dedicated to bringing Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math ("STEM") education to 5th-8th grade girls in New Jersey underserved communities

We partner with socially responsible companies and their employees, youth organizations in underserved communities, and civic-minded college students and universities.

Together we develop and deliver innovative, hands-on, and online afterschool projects and inquiry-based learning opportunities that develop teamwork, 21st-century problem-solving skills, and self-esteem.

What we do

Reduce the gender gap in STEM participation;

Bridge the innovation gap in STEM education by introducing novel formats for teaching Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math;

Address the opportunity gap by expanding access to STEM programs in underserved communities.
