Mobile-Friendly Website Audit

Project details

What we need
  • An assessment of how well the Organization's website works on mobile devices (phones and tablets)
  • Specific recommendations on how to update the website to work with mobile devices, including the highest priority enhancements needed to meet the Organization’s goals
  • Guidance on next steps, or resources for starting a mobile responsive website redesign project
  • Note: This project does not include new website development, or a complete responsive redesign of a current website.
Additional details

We have a mobile version of our site, which comes with our WordPress template (Newspaper) but Google consistently tells it it is too slow, which affects our SEO rankings. We'd like to figure out how we can make it faster (and any other recommendations that you have for optimizing it!)

What we have in place
  • We have a mobile site through our Wordpress template and we can give you access to wordpress. We have a very responsive web host (Flywheel) who will give you info you might need to figure out the speed issues, and we can share with you the Google speed and SEO results. We know our goals for the site (keep people clicking through to other stories and get them to subscribe to our weekly email) and are happy to answer any other questions.
How this will help
This project will save us $12,802 , allowing us to pay freelance writers to cover 13 additional crucial topics in this difficult and confusing time.

30-40% of our readers are on mobile devices, and in the current environment that percent is increasing. We're providing important information about affordable housing and community development to busy practitioners who don't have time to wait for slow sites to load. We don't want to lose readers to tech issues.
