What we need
  • Print-ready designed brochure template provided in a high-resolution format (jpeg, pdf, etc.)
  • Collateral, to be used in conjunction with the Brochure Writing project, for new marketing materials
  • Accurate, print-ready specifications
  • Note: This project does not include printing

The Rockbridge Ranger Adventure Guide is an exploration booklet for folks to get out and move. The current one is a thin 17 page 4"x6" booklet. It contains scavenger hunt style questions that the explorer must answer by going around to different locations in Rockbridge County to discover the answers. We would like to reuse most of the questions, but the overall look needs a facelift.

What we have in place
  • We currently have an original booklet, which should make it easy for you to get started. We also have pdf and word processor information to use, and the ability to provide any other information you need.
How this will help
This project will save us $4,212 , allowing us to continue developing other programs here at NBSP for education and the love of the outdoors.

This project allows children and their families to bond over a specific challenging task. They get outside and go on an exploration scavenger hunt for information about their own home county of Rockbridge. They will discover clues about the history and heritage of this area and have fun while doing it. Getting folks outside is a major accomplishment, and when they complete the booklet, they get to become a Ranger of Rockbridge.

  • Volunteer Manager provides Professional with high-resolution logo and visual brand guidelines or examples, images you'd like to include in the designed brochure (if applicable), and finalized copy for brochure to inform design

Milestone 1: Information Gathering
  • Professional and Volunteer Manager meet to discuss goals of brochure, target audience, and style preferences

Milestone 2: Preliminary Design
  • Professional performs initial design and layout and sends to Organization for up to 3 rounds of review and feedback

Milestone 3: Final Design
  • Professional finalizes designs, digitizes the artwork and delivers high-resolution versions, along with print specifications to Organization
  • Professional advises on best practices for printing

Our mission

It is the mission of Rockbridge Area Community Services (RACS) to help prevent and treat mental illness, developmental disabilities, and substance abuse, and to enhance the quality of life of individuals who experience these conditions in the Cities of Buena Vista and Lexington and the Counties of Rockbridge and Bath, Virginia by providing individualized treatments, establishing and expanding programs and support systems, and promoting integration into the community.

What we do

Developed and governed by a Board of Directors representing each of the four localities served by our programming, RACS has grown along with the many communities it serves. Since 1982, RACS has been the primary resource for mental health, developmental disabilities, substance abuse, and prevention services in the Rockbridge Area. With offices and programs all over the Rockbridge Area and qualified, dedicated staff, we are available to meet the diverse needs of our communities.
