Additional details
Maternal Mental Health NOW was originally founded as the Los Angeles County Perinatal Mental Health Task Force. In 2015, we changed our name to better reflect the work that we do. The problem, however, is that perinatal mood and anxiety disorders affect fathers, LGBTQI parents, adoptive parents and others that may not identify as 'maternal'. Given our name, how do we make our mission, vision and values statements more inclusive? That is the guiding question behind this project.
What we have in place
- We currently have existing mission statement, website and other collateral, which should make it easy for you to get started. We also have the results of a survey about the name change from 2015, and the ability to provide any other information you need.
How this will help
This project will save us $7,248 , allowing us to provide a 1.5 day training on perinatal mood and anxiety disorders to health care providers serving new families.
An updated mission, vision and values statement will help us build credibility in the perinatal mental health field by communicating our inclusive approach to various audiences including health care providers and young families. We are also in the process of updating our website and will have the ability to communicate these deliverables with its launch in July 2020.
