What we need

  • Clear articulation of the Organization’s goals for the website
  • Recommendations for improvements to help achieve the Organization’s desired goals
  • Note: If you are looking for a more specific, in-depth audit of your website's design and usability, try our Website Usability Audit project
Additional details

The Downtown Women's Center has had an exciting start to 2020 with the announcement of a new CEO and launch of a landmark report detailing the conditions of women experiencing homelessness across the city of Los Angeles. We also have also recently added a new dimension to the services we provide (emergency Bridge Housing for 25 women). We want our website to inspire confidence in our leadership, demonstrate the impact of our programs, as well as introduce more visual storytelling elements.

What we have in place
  • Our existing website was built on wordpress. Our website is geared towards funders, donors, volunteers (both prospective and existing)--and the general public.

Our communication strategic priorities, of which the website plays a big part, are reputation management, brand awareness, systems change (e.g. using the website to address the root causes of homelessness), and the culture of the organization, meaning positioning DWC as a great place to work for changemakers.
How this will help
This project will save us $4,762 , allowing us to build more permanent supportive housing for women experiencing homelessness.

Our website is our invitation to the public whether you are an engaged citizen, business owner, or policy maker to participate in our mission to end homelessness for women in Los Angeles.

Testimonials

Kaitlyn's audit was thoughtful and comprehensive. She was also super patient in taking us through her findings. Gratefully, we were able to update our website and implement many if not all of her recommendations.
