What We Need
  • Audit of existing Employee Handbook, or internal communications regarding employment policies
  • Edit or creation of a new Employee Handbook, which may include any of the following: Standards of Conduct, Work Schedules, Leave Policies, Termination Policies, Safety and Security, Anti-Discrimination policies, Compensation and Benefits policies, any Non-Disclosure Agreements or Conflict of Interest statements that may apply, and any other pertinent information
Additional Details

FOCUS Personnel Policies Manual needs revision and updates so that it can be consistent with employment laws and regulations. FOCUS board of trustees have made changes to the manual, but we need someone with the expertise to guide and help us with this important task (document). We also need to update some intern make some amendment to it the policies so for FOCUS is the right time to begin this project. We also need to update some internal communication to make it clear and concise.

What We Have In Place
  • We currently have a Personnel Policies manual, which should make it easy for you to get started. We also have other documents, and the ability to provide any other information you need.
How This Will Help
This project will save us $2,430 , allowing us to provide more essentials services to the community we serve.

By updating this document we will be able to provide all employees with the right information regarding policies Policies and procedures . Policy review ensures that your policies are consistent and effective. Policies are important because they address pertinent issues, such as what constitutes acceptable behavior by employees.

Project Plan

Prep: Distribution of Prep Materials
  • Volunteer Manager provides Professional with existing Employee Handbook (if applicable), internal communications regarding employment policies and any other employment policies in place that may not be clearly communicated
Milestone 1: Audit of Existing Policies
  • Professional reviews existing materials, and asks any clarifying questions
  • Professional identifies any existing policies that should be modified
  • Professional identifies any new policies or areas that should be addressed and included
  • Volunteer Manager provides feedback
Milestone 2: Outline of Handbook
  • Professional drafts a detailed outline
  • Professional incorporates Volunteer Manager’s feedback
Milestone 3: Writing & Delivery of Handbook
  • Professional drafts the Employee Handbook
  • Volunteer Manager provides any additional feedback
  • Volunteer Manager delivers final draft

What We Do

FOCUS Hispanic Center for Community Development, Inc. is a multi-service non-profit (501 (c) 3) community-based organization with a 50-year history of service to the community of Greater Newark and Essex County. FOCUS has historically offered a variety of services to the community, from the very young to the elderly: services to seniors, family support, youth development, emergency assistance, adult protective services. It delivers services to the community through two divisions: Human Services and Youth and Family Development, which reflect the importance given to these areas in order to improve the social, economic and educational needs of people served by the organization.
