What we need

  • Strategic consultation surrounding the existing functions and the core needs the Organization seeks to address
  • Freshly written mission, vision & values statements
What we have in place
  • We currently have a mission statement, which should make it easy for you to get started. We also have vision statement, and the ability to provide any other information you need.
How this will help
This project will save us $7,248 , allowing us to provide free quality programming and events for veterans. Connect with more veterans to promote an artistic form of therapy and encourage healing.

Many veterans do not receive the support they deserve and need. We want to connect with as many as we can to be a resource to them. It will also help us bring exposure to this cause.

  • Volunteer Manager provides the Professional with existing mission, vision and/or values, as well as annual reports and other relevant background materials

Milestone 1: Information Gathering & Outline
  • Professional and Volunteer Manager connect to discuss prep materials, the current vision, and future plans
  • Professional creates an outline for the mission, vision & values and incorporates any feedback from the Volunteer Manager

  • Professional shares the first draft
  • Volunteer Manager provides feedback which the Professional incorporates

Our mission

Warrior Writers is a national non-profit. Our mission is to create a culture that articulates veterans' experiences, build a collaborative community for artistic expression, and bear witness to war and the full range of military experiences.

What we do

Writing and Art Making Workshops
for Veterans and Service Members, Military Families and Community Members

Veterans and Community Conferences (VCCs)
Our powerful weekend retreats, mainly focused on art-making and wellness, are open to veterans, service members, artists, supporters and healers.

Community Gatherings and Retreats
We hold community events, conferences and week-long retreats to create space for discussion, connection and ideas.

Art Exhibitions and Performances
We present performances and exhibitions showcasing the work that veterans create at our writing and art-making workshops.

Trainings for Facilitators, Organizations, Universities, Companies
Warrior Writers provides facilitators training, consultation and training for schools, organizations and companies on best practices for working with veterans.
