Operating Budget
Operating Budget
Project details
What we need
- A detailed Operating Budget covering at least one full fiscal year
- Expert advice on how to reconcile actual expenses with budgeted expenses
Additional details
We are just getting started as a nonprofit and want to build a solid foundation financially and operationally. Ideally we would like to find a volunteer who can help us create/review all aspects of our business planning to ensure a sustainable future for the organization.
What we have in place
- We currently have a quickbase account and a years worth of financial data, which should make it easy for you to get started. We also have a dedicated board member with the time, and the ability to provide any other information you need.
How this will help
This project will save us $9,114 , allowing us to invest more of our funding into providing scholarship opportunities for US educators to join us in the Amazon and support rainforest education for Peruvian students and teachers.
As educators, we know how to create amazing learning opportunities for students and teachers. As conservationists, we believe in the power of education to create a sustainable future for the Amazon rainforest and the people who live there. As a nonprofit board, we don't have strong backgrounds in business planning, but we know that financial health and planning will be the key to a sustainable future for the organization and without this our impact will be diminished. Help!!

Our mission
The Morpho Institute supports the key role of K-12 education in realizing the global goal of environmental conservation and sustainability. To achieve this goal, The Morpho Institute provides professional development programs and curriculum resources which support local to global environmental stewardship in K-12 instruction.
What we do
In collaboration with US and international partners, The Morpho Institute provides US educators the opportunity to experience the Amazon rainforest as a compelling context for developing a global perspective on biological and cultural resources, participating in conservation, exploring sustainability, and inspiring environmental stewardship. Our field workshops and resources apply key elements of inquiry, STEM, and placed-based learning to assist educators in making these critical local to global connections in their classrooms, instruction, and curricula.
Testimonials
Luz is amazing and works magic with excel! We gave her our raw numbers and less than 24 hours later we had a beautiful operating budget! She was willing to go back and forth as we made minor adjustments and even spent an hour on the phone with us going over nearly every line item. We definitely want to work with Luz again! Thank you Luz!
