Remote or Hybrid Work Team Strategy
Remote or Hybrid Work Team Strategy
Project details
What we need
- A 1-2 page written document that summarizes the Organization’s needs and goals for effective remote/hybrid work
- Best practices and tips for the Organization’s remote staff members, including recommendations on the best virtual collaboration tools, such as Slack, Google apps, Zoom, etc.
- Recommendations for managing projects with remote/hybrid staff, including how to set up a digital workspace for easy collaboration, and how to establish communication styles and structures that support effective teamwork
Additional details
We would love recommendations that will help us collaborate and communicate more effectively for a team that often has team members working individually at different partner sites. We are rarely all in the same location and could use some better strategies to promote teamwork & culture.
What we have in place
- We use Google docs a lot for collaborative work and have done phone check-ins, but have not looked into video chats. We'd appreciate learning more about options for those and recommendations, especially ones that can be employed for people with different levels of familiarity/comfort with technology or who may not have computer access. We also would love recommendations that can be applied to a team of volunteer orchard liaisons as we continue to build that program.
How this will help
This project will save us $5,776 , allowing us to invest more in capacity-building for our orchard liaison program.
As we continue to add staff and partner sites, it will be important to make sure we communicate with each other and with our external collaborators. We need to make sure we are all looped in on what's happening, without being overwhelmed by emails, to jointly advance our mission.
Project plan
Our mission
The Philadelphia Orchard Project plants orchards in the city of Philadelphia that grow healthy food, green spaces and community food security.
POP works with community-based groups and volunteers to plan and plant orchards filled with useful and edible plants. POP provides the plants, trees, and training. Community organizations own, maintain, and harvest the orchards, expanding community-based food production.
