Membership Strategy
Membership Strategy
Project details
What we need
- A Membership Strategy document of 2-4 pages, including analysis of the Organization’s current membership program, step-by-step guide to a new or improved program, growth goals and creative outreach strategies
Additional details
Year after year, CPAWS Yukon receives strong support from our donors and members. We'd like to put more focus on our individual supporters through the development of a membership program. Our goal is - at the very least - to keep donation revenue steady and to grow our supporter base. Higher goals are to increase donation revenue and to increase involvement of our supporter base - we want our members to be proud supporters and we want them to feel valued by our organization.
What we have in place
- We currently have:
- an established donor database with current and historic information,
- a newly developed annual fundraising activity calendar (not including dollar amounts)
- some funds available to allocate towards implementation of this program
Staff availability:
The office manager is committed to this program. The ED and Communications Coordinator can make themselves available if needed.
How this will help
This project will save us $3,196 , allowing us to use these funds in program areas that are currently underfunded. We might also choose to add funds to our savings account, with the goal of moving into a new office space in the next few years.
We represent the views of many Yukoners and Canadians who want the Yukon to be an example for the world of how people can live in balance with the natural resources we depend upon. For our work to have the most impact, we want our supporters to feel valued and listened to, with the hope for them to really feel part of our organization and become more invested in our work. If we can show strong, continued, and new support for our work, we can be more successful in protecting Yukon's wilderness.
Project plan
Our mission
CPAWS Yukon aims to preserve vast tracts of the Yukon's most beautiful and ecologically important lands and waters for all. In a world that is rapidly losing its wilderness, we want conservation to be a pillar in the Yukon so that our rich wildlife and diverse landscapes receive the protection they deserve. We support fair and democratic land-use planning that respects the rights of Yukon First Nations, engages all Yukoners and recognizes the importance of protected areas as a means to promote ecological integrity and a sustainable future for the Yukon.
What we do
The Canadian Parks and Wilderness Society (CPAWS) is Canada's only nationwide environmental charity dedicated solely to the protection of our public land and water, and ensuring our parks are managed to protect the nature within them. The Yukon chapter provides a voice for the wilderness in the territory, helping to keep Canada's "true" north wild and free.
Based in Whitehorse, CPAWS Yukon advocates for the territory's most valuable and priceless resource: our abundant wilderness. We work with First Nations and all levels of government, local organizations, businesses and citizens to ensure the natural wealth we enjoy today is available for our children tomorrow. We represent the views of many Yukoners who want the Yukon to be an example for the world of how people can live in balance with the natural resources we depend upon.
