What we need
  • Training on how to create video content for web and specific social media channels, including Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube
  • List of recommendations and best practices for shooting a video
  • Instructions for how to post videos to respective social media platforms
Additional details

Looking to better understand what makes for a great video in order to take advantage of how effective videos are online.

What we have in place
  • We currently have a dedicated staff person for social media and marketing, which should make it easy for you to get started. We also have a good camera, some editing skills/software, and the ability to provide any other information you need.
How this will help
This project will save us $2,397 , allowing us to focus our financial resources on supporting our students and the resources they need.

This project will be helpful as Giving Tuesday approaches, as well as with content curation in the future. Hopefully it will help our social media presence and effectiveness.

  • Volunteer Manager and Professional connect to discuss video objectives, target audience, and platform(s) for videos to be published
  • Volunteer Manager shares with Professional budget and time available for this project (if applicable)

Milestone 1: Training Plan Creation
  • Professional prepares a detailed training plan outlining topics to be covered and structure of training
  • Volunteer Manager provides feedback which Professional incorporates

Milestone 2: Video Shoot Training
  • Professional trains Volunteer Manager how to record video(s)
  • Professional shares tips and best practices for creating videos - including necessary equipment, determining location/background settings, camera placement, etc.
  • Professional shares apps/tools that can be used to record videos

Milestone 3: Sharing Videos
  • Professional instructs Volunteer Manager how to post videos directly to each specified social media platform
  • Professional remains available for follow up questions for up to two weeks
