Accounting Systems Review
Project details
What we need
- Analysis of accounting needs and assessment of Organization’s current accounting practices
- Recommendations for process improvements for enhanced reporting
- Recommendations on appropriate bookkeeping system such as a spreadsheet or Quickbooks and related costs (if necessary)
- Note: This does not include accounting systems set up or implementation
Additional details
We are a very small nonprofit and use QuickBooks online for our accounting. We have several glitches in our set up that need to be corrected. We would also like to align our QuickBooks with our budget for easy reporting/budgeting purposes. We would also like to learn how to categorize grant expenses within QuickBooks.
What we have in place
- We currently have QuickBooks online, which should make it easy for you to get started. We also have spreadsheets with all income and expenses categorized, and the ability to provide any other information you need.
How this will help
This project will save us $2,396 , allowing us to put our resources towards helping families and medical professionals caring for children with life limiting disease - our core mission.
As a small nonprofit with only one employee (we have a volunteer treasurer and we use an accounting service for yearly taxes) it is really important to have our financial information in a really easy to use format. Not only does it save time for our staff person, but it is less costly when providing yearly information to the accountant.

Betsy was a joy to work with. She provided all information and documents I needed to perform my responsibilities in completing the project. I am impressed with PPCC mission and hope to work with Betsy in the future, as she implements my suggestions to improve their accounting system.
