We need help adding graphics into nine, already-edited, 1-minute instructional videos on inclusive education.
We believe that all children, including those with intellectual disabilities, have a right to education and classrooms where they are actively included. Ugandan schools struggle with a teacher-centered, chalk-and-talk style of didactic instruction. Our team will use these videos to help expose teachers to new, evidence-based techniques that allow them to actively include more learners, especially those with intellectual disabilities.
Building Tomorrow works communities to improve access to quality, inclusive education in Uganda. We deploy young, socially-minded Ugandan university graduates to rural communities for 2-year fellowships serving four schools. They recruit and train community leader volunteers, and together bring kids, especially those with disabilities, back to school (>53,000 to date), coordinate remedial literacy and numeracy camps, and support teachers to create inclusive, active learning classrooms. Building Tomorrow also expands access to primary education by constructing community and government-supported primary schools.
