Project details

What we need
  • A visual redo of the Organization's website
  • Design direction based on Organization's desired branding and style preferences
  • Mock-ups of key site pages
  • Commitment to 2 phone calls with a developer to guide initial front-end coding work
  • Note: We recommend this project for custom websites. If your site is built on a CMS platform like Wordpress or Squarespace that offers templates, you may not need this project. Check out our Website Content Plan project for help building a CMS-based website
Additional details

We are looking for a website designer to provide insight on the visual design of our developing website. We are working with another website designer who is building the site on square space, however, we would like more insight from a visual designer.

What we have in place
  • We currently have skeleton of our website, which should make it easy for you to get started. We also have content to fill the website with, and the ability to provide any other information you need.
How this will help
This project will save us $9,186 , allowing us to better serve the community and provide services to those who need it the most.

We are a grassroots non-profit organization that reaches a wide demographic of South Asians across Southern California. Having a professional, and accessible website, will allow us to reach more clients, attract more donors, and attract community members and volunteers. This in turn, will allow us to continue to expand our mission and uplift the South Asian community of Southern CA.

Our mission

Founded in 1990, South Asian Network (SAN) is a community based 501(c)(3) non-profit organization advancing the health, well being, and civil rights of South Asians in Southern California. We are one of the oldest South Asian social justice organizations in the U.S. and one of the only that addresses multiple issue areas under one roof.

We seek to provide care and assistance for our clients, in their communities, and in their languages. We seek to provide a safe space for community members to seek the help they need to navigate complex and difficult ropes.

What we do

The South Asian Network is not a single-issue organization. We provide holistic support to South Asians across Southern California, recognizing the reality that needs are intersectional. Our organization is broken up into three main program areas: CHAI (Community Health Action Initiative), AWAZ (Voices Against Violence) and CRU (Civil Rights Unit). We provide free or low-cost services to members of the South Asian community in the greater Los Angeles area, including Los Angeles County, Orange County, Riverside County, and San Bernardino County.

We offer support to victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, child abuse, child sexual abuse, human trafficking, and elder abuse within and outside the South Asian community. Through outreach, education, and advocacy we combat these forms of violence and the social stigma that are associated with them. We provide the following services:
