The role that the seniors play in human service, leadership, education and as the keepers of our history is invaluable to the community. It is important that they are recognized and respected by the community.

The East Palo Alto Senior Center provides services and activities that foster independence which promotes the quality of life for Seniors.

What we do

Meals
The East Palo Alto Senior Center provides daily nutritious breakfasts, hot lunches, and weekly brown bag meals to seniors residing in East Palo Alto, especially seniors with low incomes. The City of East Palo Alto provides the lunch program. EPASC, Inc. provides the breakfast program, with a continental breakfast each day. A hot "country" breakfast is offered each Thursday. The Second Harvest Food Bank provides a Brown Bag program on Thursday which gives seniors fresh produce and food pantry items.

Exercise and physical activities include a weekly Tai Chi class, strengthening programs, and bi-weekly line dancing. Health related brochures and pamphlets (e.g. breast cancer diagnosis, prostate cancer detection) from local agencies are available at no cost to seniors, and are maintained in the Center's reception area.
