Project details
What we need
- A compilation of research on a specific topic (e.g. industry best practices, literature review, media contacts, industry trends, etc.) including a list of sources
- Recommendations on areas for further exploration/research
- Note: This project is not designed to be used for prospect or grant research
Additional details
We are seeking data on the impact of financial literacy on health for individuals, families, and communities. We are specifically looking for studies that examine the effect of financial literacy education on improving healthcare outcomes. We would like to know if there is a positive correlation; does teaching financial literacy to young people leads to improved health outcomes such as increased access to healthcare, less incidence of preventable disease, or increased longevity/quality of life?
What we have in place
- We currently have data on financial literacy knowledge gains from JA programs, which should make it easy for you to get started. We also have data on long-term impacts of JA financial literacy programs, and the ability to provide any other information you need.
How this will help
This project will save us $6,154 , allowing us to deliver JA Personal Finance to 150 high school students eager to get hands-on experience adulting. Our volunteers will guide them through simulations such as comparison shopping groceries for a family
There are a number of grants offered by organizations that want to support educating young people and improved health outcomes for communities. If we can provide evidence that our programs address both of these areas this would open up new funding avenues for us.
Project plan
Our mission
Junior Achievement of Arizona empowers young people with the skills to emerge from inter-generational poverty and succeed in work and life. We give students the knowledge they need to manage their money, plan for their future, and make smart academic, career and economic choices. Delivered by trained and passionate volunteer mentors, our hands-on programs focus on three key areas: financial literacy, work readiness and entrepreneurship. Our effect is having more financial stable, healthy families in Southern Arizona, with better jobs and opening more profitable businesses. Creating true financial stability is virtually the definition of eliminating family poverty, forever.
What we do
JA's unique program model places volunteers from the community into the classrooms where they teach our curriculum to students and share about their real world experiences. Our programs equip today's students with critical financial literacy, work readiness and entrepreneurship skills that will prepare them to succeed in work and life.

Working with Maggie who sponsored this project for Junior Achievement of Arizona was an outstanding experience for me. In few short weeks, we were able to successfully complete the project as well as build an excellent working relationship.
