Board Organizational Guidelines
Project details
What we need
- Review of current board policies and procedures
- Document outlining best practices for meetings and communication, including cadence and tool recommendations
Additional details
Our major goal is to create new and more complete policies and procedures for out Steering Committee.
What we have in place
- We are a Steering Committee, not a Board, since we have a larger non-profit serving as our fiscal agent. We can provide our existing policies and procedures, which are minimal. We can also make key stakeholders available as needed. The Chair of the Steering Committee will be the lead on this project
How this will help
This project will save us $2,748 , allowing us to continue to support and expand our Community Cares Program which provides in-home visits to isolated older LGBTQ+ individuals.
We are a small all volunteer non-profit serving older LGBTQ+ individuals in our area. We are growing as the community continues to support our mission. Our budget has doubled this year. Our rather informal Steering Committee policies have placed strain on the organization and we realized that we need to formalize our policies and procedures to let us continue to expand.

SASP is a growing organization and I was glad to be able to help them set the stage for smooth operations and more success in the future. Gary was great to work with; he was responsive and supplied enough materials and context to maximize my effectiveness. I would be happy to work with SASP again in the future!
