Website Construction (CMS-Based)
Website Construction (CMS-Based)
Project details
What we need
- Development of a new website using a Content Management System (CMS)
- Training to ensure Organization's staff members can update content and manage the site post-launch
- Note: This project is for a website built with a Content Management System (CMS), such as Wordpress, Squarespace, Joomla, Drupal, or Weebly . A CMS-based website can be maintained and updated easily (no coding required!)
Additional details
Working with two different Catchafire volunteers, we have recently completed 1) a Website Visual Design Project, and 2) a Logo Design & Visual Brand identity Project. We are very pleased with the results and looking forward to getting our new site up and running.
Our new design is a simple informational site (10 pages) and we plan to link to a donation page app/plugin and to an events app. We have a high-fidelity design from our Catchafire volunteer, and she has agreed to drop the designs into
What we have in place
- We currently have a high fidelity design for our proposed site, which should make it easy for you to get started. We also have a knowledgeable, organized project manager, images and text, and the ability to provide any other information you need.
How this will help
This project will save us $16,822 , allowing us to hire a new part-time staffer to help us manage our fast growing number of student applications and help recruit more volunteer tutors to meet the increasing demand for literacy education in our area.
LVG really needs to improve its ability to communicate with our three key constituencies (existing + new); 1) students, 2) volunteer tutors and 3) donors.
For students, we need to make it easy for them to contact us and keep up to date on what is happening @ LVG. For tutors, we need to support them with tips and advice, showcase their service and attract new volunteers. For donors, we need a website that reflects the professionalism and success of LVG so that they believe we merit their support.
Project plan
Our mission
Literacy Volunteers on the Green's vision is to help individuals maintain and improve their quality of life through mastery of the English language. We do this by promoting English literacy among individuals in Litchfield and Fairfield counties of Connecticut and surrounding areas to help them become independent readers, writers, listeners, and speakers of English through classes as well as natural, authentic, real-life activities and experiences.
Testimonials
Literacy Volunteers on the Green (New Milford, CT) worked with Sharon on the final design and implementation of an entirely new website! We are thrilled with the result - https://www.lvg-ct.org/. Sharon selected the WordPress template, recommended the hosting site, chose all the needed plug-ins, organized the testing process, and led the soft and hard launches. The site exceeds our expectations. While the project took longer than expected, the delays were on our side and Sharon was patient and accommodating throughout! Thanks Sharon and Catchafire for another remarkably successful project.
I enjoyed working on this project with Kate. She has a great understanding of what goes into a website project and was very easy to work with. I admire what LVG is doing for their community and was happy to be a part of the effort.
