Our mission

To identify, analyze, and address gaps in African public policy, its scholarship, and youth through public opinion polls and analysis.

The ACSTRAP CENTER is an independent public opinion research and policy-oriented non-profit center that focuses on understanding African youth and scholarship through the following lenses: security & political violence, leadership & governance, trade & Afronomics, gender & the vulnerable, resource management, environment & conflict.

The Acstrap Center has a simple but clear vision - to establish public opinion research centers in Africa's leading cities through which the voices of African youth and scholars would be heard and understood.

What we do

We seek to identify, analyze, and address gaps in scholarship and youth policies to prepare the next generation of emerging African scholars and policymakers.

Also, we aim to complement the work of seasoned data-collection institutions, like Afro-barometer, by focusing on specific populations in the African diaspora and on the continent. This includes but is not limited to: students, experts, academics, vulnerable persons, migrants, immigrants, and practitioners.
Three primary imperatives guide our mission and vision:
* Narrative change: highlighting positives trends, increase awareness & visibility, and recognize Africa as an opportunity rather than a threat.
* Youth engagement: bridging the gap between policy, leadership, and young people through data gathering, and informed public discourse.
* Scholarship development: enhance emerging scholarship, contribute to high-quality scholarship and policy analysis through data collection, and exchange of resources with global partners.
