We are considering creating a travel experience and perhaps a paid photography class to serve different constituencies. A travel experience can be a premium offering while a more modest offering could be an accessible, yet highly valuable, experience for travelers. They would learn some more about photography and connect with our students. They could do this on a photo shoot while exploring the students' neighborhood, or out together on a field trip.
This will help us determine how feasible this idea/revenue stream could be for us, and what the expected earnings might be for different stakeholder groups. I have connections from Business schools (students travel often; global seminars); and a global organization that runs trips year round, and is looking for updated programming; Luxury travel concierges/designers and their clients. If I can understand and identify the ideal offering that serves many groups, we can achieve self-sustainment.
Photo Start uses photography to give at-risk children the skills to thrive in any environment.
Photo Start was established in 2016 and is registered as a
501(c)3 charity organization in the USA and non-profit
company in South Africa and Kenya.
Photo Start developed a core digital photography program
that was adapted to working with children who have little
technical expertise and lack of access to it. All of our
programs are free to our beneficiaries, through generous
in-kind donations of equipment and financial support.
We run seven projects in Kenya and South Africa, mostly
working in communities that live below the poverty level,
with high rates of unemployment, abuse, alcoholism, and gangsterism.
We close the global digital divide by teaching children the
skills and platforms that will empower them in the
information age, while also promoting their personal and
economic advancement, as well as overall wellbeing.
This is an incredible opportunity to rise above their current circumstances.
