Project details

What we need
  • A visual redo of the Organization's website
  • Design direction based on Organization's desired branding and style preferences
  • Mock-ups of key site pages
  • Commitment to 2 phone calls with a developer to guide initial front-end coding work
  • Note: We recommend this project for custom websites. If your site is built on a CMS platform like Wordpress or Squarespace that offers templates, you may not need this project. Check out our Website Content Plan project for help building a CMS-based website
Additional details

Hello!

We are a non-profit organization that provides free coding classes to under resourced high school students. We're looking for someone to help us revamp our website! Help us develop and code a website with a clean design that is easy to use.

Thank you!

What we have in place
  • We currently have a full and functioning website, which should make it easy for you to get started. We also have HQ photos, logos, other designs, and the ability to provide any other information you need.
How this will help
This project will save us $9,186 , allowing us to expand our programming across the Bay Area to reach more high school students in need of computer science education.

We are currently a team of 3 running an organization that serves roughly 500 students each year. We don't have the budget to improve our website to compete with similar programs, and a better designed website would definitely garner the interest of more students! Help us expand our reach!

Our mission

Mission Bit is dedicated to inspiring and empowering students to unlock their full potential. We build professional pathways for under resourced high school youth across the SF Bay Area by making computer science more accessible through our free project-based courses.

What we do

Mission Bit provides free after-school coding courses, workshops, and summer bootcamps to high school students from underserved and underrepresented communities. We offer our students a field trip to a Bay Area tech company, career and college advising related to the technology field, and an opportunity to showcase their group projects to a large community of supporters during our Demo Day event at the end of the term.

Our program's inclusive community fosters positive relationships between students, their peers, and our experienced classroom leaders. Mission Bit brings like-minded individuals together to form long-lasting meaningful connections and gives students all the tools they need to succeed in the tech industry.

Testimonials

It was an absolute pleasure to work with Milan. She made illustrations and created wireframes for our new website. She is organized, communicative, and very collaborative. She was also flexible in working with another volunteer who lived on the other side of the world. Her designs are modern and she receives feedback well. Thank you for all that you have done for us, Milan!
