Project details

What we need
  • Analysis of accounting needs and assessment of Organization’s current accounting practices
  • Recommendations for process improvements for enhanced reporting
  • Recommendations on appropriate bookkeeping system such as a spreadsheet or Quickbooks and related costs (if necessary)
  • Note: This does not include accounting systems set up or implementation
Additional details

We need assistance setting up accounting processes to ensure our organization grows responsibly. We are experiencing a sharp increase in grant funding and donations, and our expenses are also soaring. As the volunteer bookkeeper, I track all income and expenditures in Quickbooks, while our program coordinator logs gifts into a CRM platform, Little Green Light, for the purposes of managing and acknowledging donors. As we build our budget for 2020, we need professional assistance.

What we have in place
  • We currently have our finances and budget set up in Quickbooks Online, which should make it easy for you to get started. We also have gifts logged in Little Green Light, and the ability to provide any other information you need.
How this will help
This project will save us $8,564 , allowing us to continue to spend most of the funds we bring in supporting detained immigrants, their friends and family members.

El Refugio is a small organization providing services to immigrants detention center in rural Georgia and their loved ones. We visit detained immigrants, provide free lodging and meals to friends and family members; and we have just launched a new program helping our friends who are released from detention get home to their families and sponsors. We had a budget of just $99,000 in 2018, and this year we have a budget of $240,000, with a goal of $450,000 next year to meet increased needs.
