Our mission

Friends of the Future's mission is to create trust and harmony among the diverse cultures of Hawai´i through a process where all people can openly contribute their deepest values,
create shared visions and continuously improve their communities.

What we do

Friends of the Future provides a 501(c)3 non-profit home for people who are passionate about improving their community, and who want to "do the work", not be overwhelmed by paper and reports and insurance and the myriad of other administrative tasks needed to keep a non-profit organization in good standing.

Since our founding in 1991, we have provided administrative support to more than 50 programs serving all ages, ethnic and economic backgrounds and interests. Some groups have become independent 501(c)3 organizations, other have become part of another non-profit and others have been time specific projects which completed their work.

Projects span education, environment, leadership, health and wellness and community capacity building. At any given time we have between 10 and 15 active projects and no two are the same.

It's always gratifying to know that our "job" is to find a way to say yes to a person or group that have a vision and passion for improving our communities!

The director was nice. I was not able to help them because it required a different skillset.
