What we need
  • Audit of existing Employee Handbook, or internal communications regarding employment policies
  • Edit or creation of a new Employee Handbook, which may include any of the following: Standards of Conduct, Work Schedules, Leave Policies, Termination Policies, Safety and Security, Anti-Discrimination policies, Compensation and Benefits policies, any Non-Disclosure Agreements or Conflict of Interest statements that may apply, and any other pertinent information
Additional details

Development of a comprehensive employee manual for our office that is easy to understand for all ages.

What we have in place
  • We have several drafts of a new manual or portions of the manual. Those can be provided for reference.
How this will help
This project will save us $2,430 , allowing us to maintain our level of services.

We are hoping to streamline our office procedures with incoming volunteers and law clerks. We also want refresh current staff on long standing processes.

Our mission

Elder Law & Advocacy Center (ELAC) was established as a department of Neighborhood Legal Services Michigan over 20 years ago and is now the Title IIIB legal services provider for adults ages 60 and older in Wayne County. ELAC, located in the Redford Community Center, was developed to better serve the older adult population. ELAC focuses on the specific needs of older adults and caregivers and are experts on issues that affect them. Additionally, ELAC has extensive background and experience in identifying and serving older persons with the greatest economic and social need.
