Online Research
Project details
What we need
- A compilation of research on a specific topic (e.g. industry best practices, literature review, media contacts, industry trends, etc.) including a list of sources
- Recommendations on areas for further exploration/research
- Note: This project is not designed to be used for prospect or grant research
Additional details
The Women's Resource Center is looking to broaden our statistics surrounding negative outcomes of adolescent girls (drug/alcohol abuse, teen pregnancy, bullying, suicide, etc.) and why teaching coping methods such as communication and conflict resolution work well to protect young girls. Research on why these negative outcomes affect the adolescent age group is also needed. Having data on girls in the Philadelphia, Bucks, Montgomery, and Delaware counties of PA is ideal for our purposes. Thanks!
What we have in place
- We have data from Chester County (CCFWG) about suicide mortality rates, single motherhood, and eating disorder patient statistics. Data along the lines of these findings from other counties would be greatly appreciated.
How this will help
This project will save us $5,239 , allowing us to allot more money to our helpline and the counselling and family law resources, as well as further developing Girls Lead.
Our program, Girls Lead, aims to teach young girls valuable skills in order to deal with conflict in a healthy way. By going to schools in the region, we are able to reach many girls and effectively inform them about these subjects in a safe and welcoming environment. Implementing new programs and identifying school liaisons requires money provided by grants we've applied to, and the data gathered helps us build a stronger grant application.
